Celebrating those who are making a difference

We are delighted to celebrate the latest winners of our Values Champions recognition scheme, who received their awards last week.

The Values Champions recognition scheme recognises colleagues, residents and volunteers who bring our values to life every day.  Their actions, big and small, make a positive difference to the people around them, helping to create thriving communities and great places to live and work. A panel made up of residents and colleagues meet four times a year to review nominations and select two winners from each of our three values categories.

Congratulations to this round’s winners:

We make a Difference

Ashley Young, Gas and Plumbing Engineer

Whilst on call, Ashley went above and beyond to ensure gas compliance was maintained, delivering a level of service that exceeded agreed standards. His out of hours visits enabled essential work to be completed and ensured that a vulnerable tenant experienced minimal disruption to their gas supply.

Sarah Travis, Acting Catering Manager, Hartrigg Oaks

Sarah led her team in relaunching the coffee shop at Hartrigg Oaks, including the introduction of a new menu that has been very well received by residents and their families. Since the relaunch, the coffee shop has been vibrant and busy, clearly demonstrating the positive impact Sarah’s work has had on enhancing residents’ experiences.

We show we Care

Lindsey Harland, People Business Partner

Lindsey demonstrated exceptional compassion and kindness in supporting a colleague through a particularly challenging time.  Her quick thinking and thoughtful actions, including providing in-person support at short notice, clearly showing her commitment to prioritising a colleague's well-being and truly exemplified what it means to “We show We Care”

Lyn Jones and Liz Piercy, residents living at Sturdee Grove

Lynn and Liz stepped forward as ambassadors, acting as a vital liaison between residents and builders for the new development. Through their regular meetings with the site manager and project team, they ensured residents received up-to-date information about the ongoing work, while also creating a valuable channel for concerns to be heard and addressed. Their efforts helped foster trust and reassurance within the community.

We are built on Trust

Jill Robinson, Customer Service and Sales Assistant, Folk Hall

Jill has consistently proven herself to be an invaluable member of the Folk Hall team, regularly delivering exceptionally high standards of customer service. Recently, after becoming concerned that a customer using the Post Office may have paid more than the required postage amount, she went above and beyond to track them down and arrange a refund. Her proactive approach and commitment to doing the right thing are a clear reflection of her dedication to customer care.

Brogan Groom, Multi skilled operative and Logan Nelson, Work Experience Student

Brogan and Logan recently responded to an emergency where a resident had fallen, and the attending carer was unable to gain access to the property. They arrived promptly and managed the situation with efficiency, professionalism and sensitivity. Brogan also showed exceptional initiative by arranging changes to the property’s locks, helping to ensure carers will be able to access the home without difficulty in the future.
