Published date:

From 14 November to 20 December, communities across the UK are marking Disability History Month. It is a time to celebrate the achievements of disabled people and reflect on the barriers that still need to be broken down.

This year’s theme, “Disability, Life and Death,” encourages honest conversations about care, dignity, and what it means to live well.

At JRHT, we’re proud to be part of communities where everyone belongs and every story matters. Our residents, colleagues, and volunteers bring lived experience, insight, and passion that help us build places where everyone feels included and valued.

Key dates to look out for:

  • York Disability Week: 29 November – 6 December

  • International Day for Disabled People: 3 December
