As Hartrigg Oaks marks 25 years of community and 100 years since the passing of Joseph Rowntree, residents are cooking up a heartfelt tribute - a commemorative community cookbook.
The project is being led by residents Sue and Sheilah, who are gathering recipes and personal stories from across JRHT communities. Inspired by the colourful quilt made to celebrate Hartrigg Oaks’ anniversary, the cookbook will reflect the rich diversity, heritage, and warmth that makes our community so special.
Whether you are a keen cook, a family recipe keeper, or someone with a go-to dish that brings back memories, we would love to hear from you. Sweet or savoury, simple or elaborate - all contributions are welcome.
Once costs are covered, all profits from the cookbook will be donated to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre and the New Earswick Swimming Pool.
