Adapting your home
Adaptations are changes made to a property to make it easier and safer to use. These can range from small improvements, such as grab rails and handrails, through to more significant works including ramps, level access showers, widened doorways and stairlifts.
We work closely with residents and specialist partners to understand individual circumstances and identify solutions that best meet your needs. Our aim is to help residents maintain their independence, improve accessibility and remain comfortable in their homes.

Requesting an adaption
If you think your home could be adapted to better meet your needs, please get in touch with us. We will talk through your circumstances, discuss the options available and explain the next steps.
In some cases, we may ask you to obtain an assessment from an Occupational Therapist (OT). Their recommendations help us understand what adaptations may be needed and whether they are suitable for your home.
For larger adaptations costing more than £1,500 including VAT, funding may be available through a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) from your local authority. If this applies to you, we will explain the process and support you in understanding the options available.
Every request is considered individually, taking account of your needs, the type of adaptation required and the suitability of the property.
Our relationship-centred approach means we will work with you throughout the process to find the most appropriate solution to help you remain safe, independent and comfortable in your home.
