The Dower Court/William Plows Avenue community is located just off Heslington Road, York (YO10 5AD) with convenient access to York city centre and local amenities. 


The Dower Court/ William Plows Avenue development consists of a block of 36 self-contained flats over four accessible levels and an adjacent cul-de-sac of 12 first and second floor self-contained flats, which are designed to enable residents to live independently in a safe, inclusive environment. Each home has gas-fired central heating and double glazed windows. Residents can choose to rent or part rent, part buy properties from 25%, 50%, 75%, 99% on a 99 year leasehold for the elderly scheme.

Communal facilities and services

Resident facilities include a resident’s lounge, hobbies room, library and laundry. The scheme manager lives on site and offers assistance on welfare issues. Residents pay a monthly service charge and contribute towards a 'group' television licence.
