Olive Lodge - Residential Care Home
Olive Lodge is a registered residential care home with a choice of care suite sizes, all of which are en-suite and have French doors which lead to a balcony or a patio. The building is purpose built and many of the communal spaces and a number of the care suites look out over an attractive enclosed communal garden.
Care and support is provided by a dedicated team of on-site carers, and is available 24 hours, seven days a week. Specialist equipment is available, based on individual assessment to aid independency such hoists, assisted bathrooms, and all of our en-suite facilities are level access wet-rooms. Olive Lodge is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide residential care, which means it is subject to regulatory inspections.
Next to Olive Lodge is Phillips Close. These are ten two-bedroom cottages, each with a private garden. Within each cottage there is 24 hour emergency call system linking the bungalows to Olive Lodge for emergency support.
If on-going care is required for any resident living in Philips Close this will be accessed via a normal social services route. The emergency response support is not a CQC registered service.
Accommodation within each cottage is spacious and modern, with a high-quality finish. It has been designed to meet the national Lifetime Homes standard, which means that the buildings are flexible to changing needs.
Communal Facilities in Olive Lodge
Amenities available for all residents include a dining room, lounge, conservatory, library, hairdressing facilities and landscaped gardens. The whole facility is accessible, with level access and wide doorways and corridors. There is also 24 hour access to small kitchenette areas for any resident wishing them, as well as an out of hours food menu. Wi-Fi is also available in the communal areas.
“I am very proud of our team and the services we offer, particularly during the pandemic, it is this team and our residents which makes Bedford Court such a strong and vibrant community. This is because we are relationship-centred. We focus on the importance of positive relationships between our guests, relatives and staff. We take time to find out what is important to each individual, which helps us to assist each person with the services that best meet their needs.”
- Michelle Bowmer, Care Home Manager
The Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust was founded over 100 years ago by Joseph Rowntree, a visionary Quaker businessman, philanthropist and social reformer. One of our roles was and remains to provide high quality housing for our communities. As part of this, our Care services were established to provide support and assistance to the elderly, continuing Joseph Rowntree’s vision to this very day.
Founded as a charity, we are a not-for-profit organisation. Every penny we earn is re-invested to enhance and improve the service we offer.
Olive Lodge was part-funded by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and applications from Quakers are welcomed.
