In July 2019, we were granted planning permission from the City of York Council to build 40 new homes on the old National Grid site west of Metcalfe Lane.

The 40 homes will be a mixture of social rent/ shared ownership (9) owned by JRHT and private sale (31). Camstead Homes have now been selected as developer for this site.

Construction Traffic Management Plan (CTMP)

As part of the planning conditions by the City of York Council, a Construction Traffic Management Plan (CTMP) for Phase 5 is required. The route for construction traffic will be via Fifth avenue in Tang Hall.

This has already been approved by the City of York Council as part of the planning application for Phase 5.

JRHT and Camstead Homes have been working together to develop a CTMP. The plan aims to address many of the concerns previously raised by residents and the local community including times of deliveries, management of noise, dust and vibrations, as well as safety and security.

The CTMP has been shared with residents and the local community for feedback before the final version is submitted to the City of York Council for approval.
