January can sometimes be difficult financially for many households. Higher winter costs, Christmas spending, and rising prices can all put extra pressure on day-to-day budgets. At JRHT, we want to make sure every resident knows about the support available and how to get help if you need it.

Make sure you’re receiving the benefits you are entitled to

Many people don’t claim all the financial support they qualify for.

You might be entitled to:

  • Universal Credit if your income has changed or you’re struggling with essential costs.

  • Pension Credit if you’re over State Pension age and on a low income.

  • Council Tax Support depending on where you live and your circumstances.

  • Disability benefits such as PIP or Attendance Allowance if you have long-term health conditions.

If you’re unsure what you can claim, we can help.

Support with Winter and Energy Costs

Winter brings extra heating and living costs. Residents may be able to access:

  • Warm Home Discount

  • Cold Weather Payments (when issued by government)

  • The Priority Services Register, offering extra support from energy suppliers

  • Local Household Support Funds or cost-of-living schemes run by councils

If you’re worried about falling behind on gas or electricity payments, contact your supplier early. They can work with you on an affordable plan.
