Camstead Homes will be building 40 homes based on the approved planning permission granted by the City of York Council.
These homes will follow the same design and sustainability ethos as the initial four phases of Derwenthorpe along with providing nine affordable homes for JRHT either Shared Ownership or Social Rent.
Work on the site began in early January with a team securing the site and creating an entrance from Derwent Place. Work continues to prepare the land for building the foundations including breaking up concrete slabs of the old National Grid site.
It is anticipated that the first homes will be ready in January 2024 with the remaining completed by January 2025.
David Boyes– Watson, Deputy Development Director said “It is exciting to be working with Camstead Homes to build the 40 final homes within Derwenthorpe. Once completed, JRHT will own and managed 9 of these homes. These homes are part of our commitment to provide more affordable homes so people can build their lives on solid foundations.”
Johnny Rapley, Sales Director, Camstead Homes said “We are thrilled to be working with JRHT to build 40 new homes within Derwenthorpe. The new homes will be built to a high specification and follow the same design and sustainability ethos as the other homes in Derwenthorpe.”
