On Monday 13 July, staff from JRHT came together with residents for the Annual Gardening Competition at Victoria Geldof in Huntington, York. The judges were made up of Matt Lewer (Service Transformation Lead, JRHT), Fi Crawford (Housing Officer), Tom Hepburn (Parks and Landscapes Manager) and Georgina Pike (Resident Involvement Officer.)
Every year, the gardening group at Victoria Geldof holds a gardening competition for residents living within the community. The competition is a fantastic opportunity for residents to showcase their creativity and dedication in transforming their outdoor spaces into beautiful havens.
The categories for this year's competition were front and back gardens, hanging baskets and planters, most family-friendly garden, and gardens suitable for birds and wildlife.
Matt Lewer, Service Transformation Lead said “I spent a fantastic couple of hours this afternoon with residents. It was a pleasure to be asked to be one of the judges for the annual garden competition organised by the Victoria Geldof Community Group in York. The standard was so high.”
