For the last few months, we've been hosting some fun digital skill workshops at the Folk Hall in New Earswick. These workshops, created for JRHT residents, are designed to help you get better at using technology and introduce you to new online services. They're a team effort with York Learning and cover a wide range of topics, such as:

  • Using QR codes
  • Using Google Maps for directions
  • Watching shows on services like BBC iPlayer
  • Listening to music on Spotify

The workshops run for three weeks at a time, with each session lasting a couple of hours and focusing on two topics.

You can bring your own gadget, but if you don't have one, don't worry—York Learning has tablets for you to use. Everyone who's joined us so far has had a great time learning, discussing, and diving into new digital skills.

Feedback has been extremely positive, with attendees appreciating the helpful tips, supportive instructors, and the chance to learn alongside others. Many are keen to join more sessions.
