Who we are?

We are the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT). Our purpose is to build and develop strong and empowered communities without poverty or isolation. We are a Registered Charity in England and Wales (registered number 210169) and a Housing Association and Registered Social Landlord with the Regulator of Social Housing (registered number L0057), and the address of our Head Office is: The Homestead, 40 Water End, York, YO30 6WP.

What data we hold about you?

From August 2021, JRHT will be working with contractors to complete various construction activities within in the community. Some of these activities will be disruptive to current residents and the local community. To ensure that we can effectively communicate with residents, we are asking residents to sign up for regular email updates from JRHT. These updates will cover current issues and future plans.

The following data will be captured and held securely:

• Name

• Address

• Email address

Once subscribed, residents will be given the option to unsubscribe from these updates if they wish by an unsubscribe link included on all updates.

Why we need it and who we share it with?

We need this information so that we can contact you by email to provide timely updates relating to current issues and future plans including construction activities. The lawful basis we rely on for the processing of your information for this purpose is legitimate interest.

We use a sign-up form which is part of our email campaign system (Campaign Monitor) to collect the data which is stored within a secure data centre. You can view details of how your data is kept private and secure -

We will hold your personal data for 3 years. After this period we may send communication to you to ask whether you wish to remain on our mailing list. We will not use the information you supply for any other purpose or share it with anyone else
