We have recently awarded a grant to St Aelred’s Catholic Primary School to change a courtyard area, which is currently unsafe and unused – into a multi-functional area benefiting all the children and visitors in school.
The grant was awarded from the Derwenthorpe Community Fund.
The Derwenthorpe Community Fund was set up as part of Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust’s commitment to invest in community groups and facilities in Derwenthorpe and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Briony Parrott, School Business Manager, At Aelred’s Catholic Primary School, said " We are absolutely thrilled to have been accepted for the grant and simply cannot thank you enough! This grant, along with the money we have already started to raise, will enable us to complete the ground works of the Courtyard project. Our goal and vision is to change the courtyard area, which is currently unsafe and unused – into a multi-functional area benefiting all the children and visitors in school. This is our “seed” funding – that enables us to start the project and help us to draw in other providers and supporters as well as raising further monies to complete the project.”
We would welcome more applications for funding from local community groups.
