The Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust has appointed Chris Simpson as its new Executive Director.
Mr Simpson has worked in social housing and related fields for more than 25 years. He has previously worked as a consultant on projects for central and local government, as well as working directly for housing associations in Manchester and London.
During this time, he also gained an MSc in Housing from the London School of Economics and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Housing.
Since 2009, he has been Chief Executive at Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation, which manages 2,000 homes and estate services on behalf of Leeds City Council. During this period he also spent a year as interim CEO at West North West Homes in Leeds.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Simpson said:
“JRHT has made a unique and enduring contribution to social housing design and values. I am delighted to have the opportunity to play a leading role in the next chapter of the Trust’s history and very much share the Board’s aspiration of delivering high quality services and growth, while putting tenants and residents at the heart of everything we do.”
The Chief Executive of JRHT, Campbell Robb, said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Chris Simpson to JRHT. Like many other housing associations and care providers, we are working in a challenging environment. His appointment will give us the leadership and experience we need to meet these challenges and ensure JRHT has a strong future, providing high-quality services to our residents and tenants.”
Mr Simpson will join JRHT in early March.
