JRHT neighbourhoods are hosting a series of events and activities to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Celebrations will be taking place across an extended bank holiday weekend from 2-5 June.

In York, The Folk Hall and New Lodge, supported by the New Earswick Residents Forum, will be hosting a Big Jubilee Lunch between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 4 June. The family friendly event, on the green between New Lodge and the Folk Hall, is completely free and open to all. The day will be filled with music and entertainment, as well as a climbing wall, face painting and bouncy castle and other inflatable fun to keep the kids entertained. An ice-cream van will be paying a visit and there will be plenty of space for picnics. You can also pre-order a picnic from the Folk Hall reception for £10 per person. We’d love to see you there!

Foxwood Community Centre in Foxwood, York, will be hosting two very special events to celebrate the Jubilee. The first is a Jubilee themed craft extravaganza on Thursday 2 June from 1pm until 4pm. Come along for free craft activities, light refreshments and an opportunity to connect with the local community. The centre is also hosting a Jubilee party with a free buffet style lunch and family entertainment on Friday 3 June from 12pm until 3pm. There is no need to book for either event, just pop along to the Community Centre on Cranfield Place, Foxwood.

We’d love to hear about any Jubilee celebrations in your neighbourhood. Send any info or photos to us at [email protected]
