We can`t believe the end of our first year is near as Trainee Nursing Associates (TNAs)!
This year has thrown us the best challenges and new learning experiences we have both ever experienced! Not only have we had the challenges of Covid, but undertaking a Nursing Degree, which was both new to the Organisation and to ourselves has proved challenging however, very rewarding!
The program has enabled us to demonstrated the importance of bridging the gap between Health Care Assistants and the Nurses at JRHT, encompassing a whole new range of knowledge, skills and attitudes.
Our journey so far has taught us to believe in ourselves and have confidence in our abilities.
We have both had the wonderful opportunity to undertake our new learning with University days, protected learning days and new practice placement. This included a placement with ILS York services in January and February of this year, supporting the team there are bring forward our experiences from residential care to support the service during the outbreak of Covid there.
The support from both The Oaks and Lamel Beeches nursing team has been amazing! We have all worked extremely hard together to show we care, build trust and make a positive difference.
We are super excited to head in to our second year as TNA`s, as we continue our learning journey to receiving our NMC PINS, that we are so grateful for this opportunity to be TNA’s in social care.
Finally, a huge shout out to all colleagues who are thinking about this route into nursing: be brave, go for it, and look out for the advert regards this opportunity which comes out next month for September 2021 start.
