This week we say a huge thank you to our frontline housing teams

This week the whole housing sector is joining together to say a huge thank you to our frontline staff who have kept services running during the current lockdown.

Chris Simpson, Executive Director of the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, said:

“I am proud to be joining the wider housing sector in saying a huge thank you to our talented and committed frontline housing teams. We all know how crucial a decent, affordable home in a safe and inclusive community is to achieving a good standard of living. Thanks to your hard work, and partnership with our residents, you help make this a reality for so many people. This is all the more important at a time of such great uncertainty and anxiety for people across our country.

“In spite of the current lockdown, our teams have continued to make a significant contribution to the communities we serve. From our operatives completing essential gas servicing and emergency repairs to our customer services team providing much needed welfare calls to vulnerable residents. Our Neighbourhood Services team and Money & Benefits Advisor supporting those who are facing a financial shock to our Parks & Landscapes Team keeping our outdoor spaces safe for everyone to enjoy. All of this has ensured we are there for our residents and communities when times get tough.

“There is no doubt that your response to the current national emergency has been nothing short of remarkable and truly embodies the proudest traditions of our organisation which has been building homes and supporting communities for over a century. From me, the whole organisation as well as our communities, thank you.”

Donna Stead, Neighbourhood Services Officer, is pictured here at Lamel Beeches and has been helping in her redeployed role to clean the facilities and help run the laundry service. Thank you to Donna and all of our redeployed staff!

Our staff have also been keeping services running whilst working from home. Here we have Rachel Thompson, Compliance Co-ordinator, who usually works at the Garth in her new home set-up.

Here Jennifer Piggin, New Earswick Folk Hall Manager, has a little helper whilst continuing to support our frontline staff whilst working from home.

A huge thank you from all of us to our frontline housing teams.
