We’re delighted to let you know that JRHT’s 2020 Annual residents report has now been published. Last year was one few of us would want to repeat and our pandemic response has been intensive and continuous. This diverted our attention away from some of our priorities at the beginning of 2020 as we worked hard to keep up with the ever-changing rules and restrictions. But despite that, we still achieved a lot, as well as learning lessons along the way.
At the height of the pandemic, JRHT staff made nearly 200 daily calls to residents, supporting people to access the help they needed during a time of crisis. We are also proud to say that our properties remained safe, as we maintained buildings compliance of almost 100% across key areas such as fire risk assessments and gas inspections.
In 2020, we worked hard to develop our workforce, with almost 7,000 individuals completing online training modules. This is enabling us to build a more confident and professionally developed care team so that our care residents get the absolute best.
Despite the challenges, we’re proud that work continued on our brilliant new extra care scheme at New Lodge in New Earswick.
And we awarded 23 grants, worth over £100,000, to strengthen communities and support activities in 10 of the most deprived wards in York and Hartlepool.
We want to build on these achievements in 2021 and the residents report also sets out our vision for the future. We’re committed to ensuring that JRHT residents play a vital role in shaping our future services and ways of working.
