About the role
The Area Chef is responsible for the production of food for New Earswick Catering, Hartrigg Oaks and other JRHT sites when covering for holidays and generally supporting the Chef teams in our restaurants and coffee shops.
We offer a multi choice, varied menu, which is nutritionally well balanced and created, wherever possible, with locally sourced produce. We feel it is important to contribute to the sustainability of the wider community that we are part of.
We want to make sure that everyone, including our residents and staff, are kept safe and have extensive safety and infection control measures in place, throughout our working environments.
Additionally, it is legislation from 11 November 2021, that everyone who works in a residential or nursing care home or needs to enter a residential care setting to carry out their role, must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Consequently, ensuring this requirement is met forms part of our recruitment and selection process, where applicable.
You will have significant experience within a food production environment, with a level 2 Food Safety qualification and related qualification.
You will be able to create nutritional and attractive dishes as well as evidencing a knowledge of food trends and exceptional customer service.
We are looking for a self-motivated, good communicator who offers a reliable yet flexible approach to their work. The ability to work as part of a team is vital to this role.
