Life in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic has taught us that access to quality outdoor spaces is vitally important for everyone’s health and well-being. Working together with residents, we hope to create a public landscape at Derwenthorpe where nature and the community can live and thrive alongside each other.
We know that residents have many great ideas and initiatives, and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) already has a blossoming partnership with the Derwenthorpe Nature Group (DNG) who are becoming a driving force behind nature conservation.
We want to bring all this great work together, in one strategy which will create a meaningful and practical project created by residents for the residents. The landscapes strategy will set out a clear vision for the sustainable long term future management of all of the outdoor spaces at Derwenthorpe.
We are working with the Derwenthorpe Governance Group (DGG) and Derwenthorpe Nature Group (DNG) to develop the landscape strategy.
