My work covers all areas of JRHT's care services: residential care settings, nursing care settings, domiciliary care and Independent Living Services for people with physical and learning disabilities. I very much welcome feedback, comments and concerns from residents and their families, friends and carers on all aspects of these services.
I enjoy meeting, getting to know and supporting residents in our care settings. Helping them to live as independently as they can gives me great job satisfaction.
As a secondary carer for my folks, I also try to empathise with the family, friends and carers of the people we support to ensure we communicate well and give them confidence that the people they care about are well supported.
However, as a manager, I ‘do the ironing’ – I smooth the way for our amazing team of care staff to provide services that put the resident at the heart of the support we provide. This aspect of my work gives me great motivation and pride.
I have worked in health and social care services for the last 25 years, ranging from sexual health, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, mental health services, dementia support services, supported housing services, couple and family relationship support services, residential, nursing, domiciliary and independent living services.
My qualifications include: MBA; DChA - Diploma Charitable Accounting; PGDip Charity Resources Management; CIE – Certificate Independent Charity Examination; BSc Hons; NLP (practitioner); CIEH Management of Health and Safety; Cmgr – Chartered Manager; FRSA – Fellow Royal Society of Arts; and CIPD (associate) Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
