Red Lodge is a vibrant community for older people, offering both sheltered accommodation and registered residential care. This means that it is suitable for people who have no care needs but who want to live in a supportive environment, through to people who require 24-hour care.

Red Lodge is conveniently located in the Edwardian garden village of New Earswick, on the outskirts of York. It is next door to the Folk Hall, which is the central social hub of the village, making it ideally positioned to enjoy village life and still be within easy reach of York’s historic city centre.

Accommodation at Red Lodge is located within a three-storey building with views over landscaped gardens.

There are 65 flats, in a choice of sizes, located across three floors, with lift access. They are all fitted with an Emergency Call System, providing immediate access to the care team.

Wi-Fi access is available in some communal areas. 

There are also activities and events that take place on a regular basis.

The highest standards of care and support are available around the clock at Red Lodge, provided by our dedicated team of carers. The aim is to create an environment where each and every person can maximise their independence and social well-being. It is suitable for people who:

  • have no support but want to live in a safe and secure environment
  • require some support to carry out daily activities
  • need the full services of a registered care home.

Our services are relationship-centred, which means they focus on the importance of positive relationships between older people, relatives and staff. We take time to find out what is important to each individual, so that we can provide them with services that best meet their needs.

Yes, visitors are very welcome. It is advisable to telephone beforehand so that we can ensure that a member of staff is available to give you a tour and answer any questions you might have.
