A planning application has now been submitted to the City of York Council for consideration.
We would like to thank residents for submitting feedback about our plans to build new and affordable homes off Roman Road in Poppleton.
The feedback received from both the event and online survey has now been collated and analysed. We are pleased to share that we have changed our plans based on feedback provided.
A key area raised by residents was relating to the number of homes being built. (Originally 75 homes). We have listened to this and have now reduced the number being built to 70.
Area Poppleton, York
Number of Homes up to 70 homes
Tenure Type minimum of 65% Affordable (mixture of social rent & shared ownership)
Scheme Details
Working with North Star (local developer), we plan to build up to 70 homes with a minimum of 65% being affordable (either social rent or shared ownership). The homes will be a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes including bungalows, semi-detached and detached.
These homes will be situated in an excellent location with easy access to Poppleton Railway Station, schools, children’s nursery and many other community facilities.
Once built, the homes will be accessed from Roman Road (A59) , via a new priority T-junction. There will also be pedestrian and cyclist access throughout the site linking into the nearby existing footpaths.
Estimated Completion 2024 (dependent on outcome of the planning application)
