Independent Living Services (ILS)

Independent Living Services (ILS) enables people with learning and physical disabilities to live independently in their own home.

ILS supports adults to have choice and control in every aspect of their lives.

We have a number of properties in the York and Market Weighton area that have been specifically designed for this purpose. These are built to Lifetime Homes standards, which means they are fully accessible and flexible to changing needs.

Support, care and wellbeing

ILS promotes good health and social wellbeing, as well as helping people to feel safe and secure. Services include:

  • emotional support and counselling;
  • domiciliary support, such as help with cleaning, laundry and shopping;
  • personal care, including support with food preparation, bathing and help with dressing.

Services are provided as part of a personalised care plan, delivered in the tenant's own home and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Registration and Vacancies

ILS is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The CQC regularly carries out audits of our service to ensure that it meets the standards set in the Care Standards Act 2000.

You can find out more about the CQC and read copies of its latest report on their website.

If you are interested in applying for a place in one of our ILS schemes you should contact your local Care Management Team who commission us to provide support under the Care Quality Commission.
