We have 30 allotments in New Earswick at 2 sites - Willow Bank and Sleeper Path.

The rent for a site is currently £11.25 a year. A register is available for anyone interested in working an allotment. Contact us here if you would like to be put on the register. The rent is reviewed each year by the Estate Maintenance sub group of New Easrwick Management Committee

Plots are allocated by date order. Priority is given to New Earswick residents, however to ensure that plots are worked consideration will be given to people outside of the village.

There is also a recycling area next to the Sleeper Path allotments that can be used for the disposal of garden waste. You can also buy locally produced compost made from the garden waste and household waste that is collected from some houses by the New Earswick Composting Project. The opening times of the recycling area are printed on the gate.

Allotment holders should maintain their plot in a weed free/controlled state and cultivated.You should not sub let your plot or dump waste in areas other than the recycling area.

Plots are viewed every quarter by our staff to ensure they are being worked. If a plot has not been worked for 3 months a warning letter will be sent to the plot holder. If there is no improvement after a further month we will write and tell you that we may terminate your tenancy.
