Councillor Peter
Booth, Deputy Mayor of Scarborough with General Manager, Judith
Hannah.
Plaxton Court, Scarborough's innovative new housing and care
facility for older people on Woodlands Drive, was formally opened
by Councillor Peter Booth, the Deputy Mayor of Scarborough in a
ceremony on Thursday 26 June.
The opening was attended by over 70
invited guests, including Trustees of the Plaxton Court Charitable
Trust, whose generous donation had made Plaxton Court
possible.
Judith Hannah, General Manager of Plaxton Court, said: "Our aim is
to support older people to live independently in their own home,
through services that promote good health and social well-being.
We are delighted with how popular Plaxton Court has proved to be
locally, we only have a few properties remaining and many
non-residents have already signed up to our social membership
scheme."
Members of the public are invited to attend an open day at Plaxton
Court on Sunday 20 July, between 12 noon and 4:00pm. This is an
opportunity to view the accommodation and leisure facilities and
also speak informally to members of staff. For further information
