John Kennedy, Director of Care Services for the JRHT, said: "We are very pleased the first year of the scheme has been such a success. We have received very positive feedback from the current residents, which is a great testament to the hard work put in by all involved.

Plaxton Court, named in memory of the late F W (Eric) Plaxton, former Chairman of the Scarborough-based Plaxton Group, is a high quality mixed tenure development comprising 69 high quality apartments and cottages. The scheme is specifically for people aged over 55 and was designed to allow older people to retain their independence by living in their own home, with on-site support and well-being services available. On-site an extensive range of communal facilities are available for both residents and the wider population, including a restaurant, hair salon, fitness suite and convenience store.
