The Joseph Rowntree Foundation's Practice and Research Committee (PARC) links the operational activity of the Foundation, Housing Trust and other practice agencies, with research and development activity.

The primary aim of this committee is to support, monitor and evaluate pioneering development projects or ideas. Most of its work falls into the following categories:

• creating communities/housing management
• development/Lifetime Homes/Smart Homes
• housing and care
• housing finance, tenure and low cost home ownership
