All
our sheltered
housing schemes have either a resident scheme manager or a
visiting peripatetic scheme manager to help the schemes to run
smoothly, provide a link with other services and act as a contact
point for relatives and friends.
The link to the City of York
Council provides a 24 hour service.
Scheme managers will explain to residents their daily routine
and availability.
The following level of service is provided by the scheme
manager:
- a daily intercom call Monday to Friday - if requested;
- emergency calls answered by the scheme manager or central
control and appropriate action taken;
- a regular weekly visit - if requested;
- more frequent calls or visits if the need arises.
Time outside the manager's working hours and at weekends is
their own, and you are asked to respect this.
If you need urgent assistance or are worried about something,
press the button or pull a cord for help.
Routine care services
The scheme manager is not responsible for collecting
prescriptions or pensions, paying bills, doing housework, washing,
providing meals or giving nursing care. In an emergency they may do
some of these tasks for a limited time. However, if you need
long-term help, the manager will discuss the options available and
arrange a link with the appropriate
service.
