From 1st April 2006 we became the 'HomeBuy Agent' for North Yorkshire and Humberside. This means that anyone looking for low cost home ownership options in this area can contact us and apply to purchase a property under the HomeBuy options detailed below.

The HomeBuy Agent will be responsible for the marketing of all the HomeBuy products and will assess applicants eligibility before directing them to local schemes which best meet their needs.

The following schemes are available through HomeBuy:

• Open Market HomeBuy - aims to help people on limited incomes to buy a home ouright on the open market by allowing access to additional money - "equity loans" to supplement a mortgage
• New Build HomeBuy - enables people who cannot afford to buy a home outright to purchase a share in a new home
• Social HomeBuy - allows JRHT tenants the opportunity to purchase their current home on shared ownership terms or outright with the benefit of a pro-rata purchase discount
• First Time Buyers' Initiative (FTBI) - enables first-time buyers, who cannot afford otheriwse to buy a new home, to purchase a new property with an affordable mortgage and with government assistance on a designated FTBI development
