To maintain the garden village community, all properties are sold subject to a number of conditions which are contained in covenants in the property transfer documentation.

These covenants cover:

  • The resale of the property -buyback
  • Subletting of the property
  • Participation in the "Village Scheme"

Buyback clause

Within the first 21 years of purchase, if you wish to sell the property you must offer to sell the property back to us. We will let you know within one month if we wish to buy the property back form you.

Sub-letting

We will not allow purchasers that want to "buy to let".

We will also not allow subletting without our permission, and this would be for short periods only (if you had a good reason) for example if you were doing voluntary service overseas (V.S.O.), travelling abroad, or maybe undertaking a study placement or work secondment.

The Village Scheme Charge

The main objectives of the village scheme are to maintain the garden village aspect, preserve the environment and amenities of the village, control future development of the village and to maintain open spaces.

The annual charge to residents is in 2005 £247. The charge is reviewed each year. You can pay a one off cost annually, or monthly. For further information click on the link to contact us.
