Fledglings' Court provides 24-hour professional care and support
to fourteen adults with learning difficulties in a residential
setting. One of the rooms is offered for short-term respite
care.
Location
Fledglings' Court is situated in Market Weighton, and plays an
active role in the community of this busy market town. Market
Weighton is located within the Vale of York and is also close to
Selby.
There are two vehicles (a minibus and people carrier) available
to Fledgings', which is useful, as residents have the opportunity
to participate in many activities through local day centres in
Beverley, Pocklington, Hull and Driffield.
Management
Fledglings' Court is a joint venture between the Joseph Rowntree
Housing Trust and the Fledglings' Trust. The home is privately
owned by the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) and is managed by
Jill Dunlop (Head of Adult Services), who has over 20 years
experience managing our Adult Services and Pat Stainton (Head of
Home).
Registration
Fledglings' Court is registered with the Commission for Social
Care Inspection (CSCI) as a Care Home for Adults with Learning
Difficulties. The CSCI Inspectorate regularly carry out audits of
the home to ensure appropriate standards of care and accommodation
are provided for the residents and that the home adheres to
national prescribed care standards as laid down in the Care
Standards Act 2000. An up-to-date CSCI Inspection Report and full
staff profile are freely available at the home upon request.
