Hartfields
incorporates the latest thinking in design techniques and modern
features, which provide convenience and comfort as well as enabling
older people to maintain their independence.
The whole site is designed to meet the national 'Lifetime Homes'
standard, which ensure that the built environment is entirely
suitable for people of any age and is flexible to changing needs.
This includes level access, with ample space for wheelchair and
motorised scooter users.
All of the housing is located within a short distance of the
central communal facilities and amenities, which are situated in a
spacious glass-roofed atrium, which is in the style of a village
street. The layout of the communal area has been thoughtfully
designed so that people can use the light and airy spaces for
socialising and relaxing with friends, and enjoy views overlooking
the beautiful landscaped gardens.
Advanced safety and security features have been incorporated into
the design of Hartfields, for added peace of mind. The whole site
is being built to 'secured by design' standards. This is a
national Police flagship initiative, supporting the principles of
designing out crime, using effective crime prevention and security
standards for a range of applications.
